A hybrid public relations/content office that partners with studios, estates, and foundations to position artists in historical and current contexts.
Profile
Created out of an interest in post-war abstraction and new tendencies in art, especially work made in California, we have contributed to the legacies of singular 20th century artists such as Jay DeFeo, Richard Diebenkorn, Hedda Sterne, Wayne Thiebaud, and Mary Ann Unger; and adventurous, boundary pushing 21st century artists and organizations, such as Mariah Robertson, Jackie Saccoccio, and Eyebeam.

A total communications offering for artists, estates, and foundations
In collaboration with MacFadden & Thorpe
“We share both a passionate interest in the artists and buildings of the West and a desire for clarity, functionality, and beauty of thinking and expression. We are deeply invested in our practices and have all taught in the graduate programs of California College of the Arts, an institution that emphasizes art, architecture, design, and writing as social and civic acts.”
—Brent Foster Jones, Brett MacFadden & Scott Thorpe
The office of Brent Foster Jones and MacFadden & Thorpe began working together on behalf of the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation nearly a decade ago. Today, we provide a fully integrated reputation and brand offering to position and distinguish the legacies of artists.
Each program is dynamic and integrated. An artist endowed foundation, for instance, might engage with us to design a visual and verbal identity system to be woven across all communications; build a visually forward indexical, searchable platform with an editorial/content channel; script, direct, and edit an original film; create highly compelling digital and social; plan and execute public programs/events with invitations and visual assets; and serve as a press office that arranges news, features and profiles, reviews, and scholarly excerpts.
